Happy New Year !!

Thank you to everyone who has participated so far!!

We have three schools to complete with certificates -- a secondary in Leeds, a secondary in Otley and a primary in Moro Beach California! Once they have completed walking there will be no more of the original certificates. That will be nearly 10,000 people who will have received certificates and more than that who will have walked as we have had some anonymous walkers.

Once those schools have finished we will keep on with the miles and minutes for peace here. We will be heading off for the Moon soon (250,000 miles) and there will be more schools outside of Leeds as well as in the Leeds area that will be joining in the effort.

Final Tally for 2005

We have a final total of miles and this will be put on the plaque at the Olive Tree for Peace at Leeds Metropolitan University this week.

Total number of walkers (approximately): 5913

Total number of recorded miles: 24,532

We have therefore covered 4 times the distance between Leeds and Hiroshima, walking there and back twice amongst all of us. Thank you all for your continuing peace activities. May 2006 bring us more miles and hours devoted to peace.
